Freddie Moore Mermaids

"...but of course these stories have no basis in fact. They're merely tall tales that should be classed as fiction along with the myths of m-m-mermaids?!"

I love the old Submarine Voyage ride...

My friend wanted me to do some concept sketches of mermaids for a collectable figurine. I chose to do it in Freddie Moore's style:

Here are some rough sketches for other ideas:

"...uh, Mr. Baxter...check the air pressure..."

Love the look on her face of coy seduction.

Hi James,
I’m a Belgian guy, native French speaker, and I’ll try to do my best to write this in correct English.
In fact, I’m a fan for almost all the animation films, but my very favorite ones are “the Lion King” & “Tarzan”.
Till now, I already contacted a few animators who worked on those movies in order to request a to my name signed sketch of one of the characters they designed.
I think to know that you worked on those films too. You namely drew Rafiki, isn’t it?

Well, I was wondering if you’d agree to draw this character for me on a piece of paper that I could include in a Golden Book in which I’m collecting my signed sketches.
Is this something which is possible?
Of course, I could send you my request by mail, with a self-addressed envelope for the return, and I would support all the costs.
Would you like to do this for me?
You’d please me a lot if you could answer “yes”.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,

DOM
